Amy Bluntzer has over 10 years
experience as a registered dietitian in the Austin area. Her past
employment includes a wide range of nutrition therapy from working with
critical care patients at Seton and Brackenridge hospitals as a Certified
Nutrition Support Dietitian (CNSD) to counseling families on diabetes
management and prevention at the Volunteer Health Care Clinic. Amy
has also provided nutrition seminars on many topics such as heart disease,
women’s health, and the special challenges of feeding young children.
She was named a Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year for Texas in 1999.
Her passion is teaching others how to view and use food as a gift to prevent
disease and maximize quality of life.
Amy received a bachelor’s degree in Scientific Nutrition from
Texas A&M University and was named the winner of the Brown-Rudder
Outstanding Student Award for her graduating class. She completed
a dietetic internship at Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital,
where she had the opportunity to train in both nutrition counseling and
management with some of the top nutrition experts in the country.
Amy enjoys caring for and playing with her two young boys.
She spends many weekends hiking and camping in the beautiful hill country.
She is active in her local church community and mothers' groups.
